This Privacy Policy explains how Footstep Productions, LLC ("Eugene Marathon," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in connection with the Eugene Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K, Kid's Duck Dash, and related events (collectively, the "Event"), our website located at eugenemarathon.com (the "Site"), and our registration, communications, and marketing activities.

This Policy applies to participants, volunteers, spectators, and anyone who visits the Site or registers for the Event. It does not cover third-party websites or services we link to or that you use independently, such as our registration platform's own privacy policy, which governs how that company handles your information on its systems.

2. Information We Collect

  • Registration information: name, mailing address, email, phone number, date of birth, gender, T-shirt/apparel size, pace or team information, emergency contact information, and country/state of residence.

  • Payment information: processed directly by our registration platform and/or payment processor. We do not receive or store full credit card numbers.

  • Website usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring URLs, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Administration: Process registrations, assign bib numbers, timing and scoring.

  • Safety: Provide emergency contact info to emergency services when needed

  • Communication: confirmations and event information messages (you may opt out of marketing messages at any time)

  • Reporting: Aggregated, de-identified analytics

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell personal information. We only share personal information needed for event operations: 

  • Service providers: Including timing & results, photography and registration 

  • Governing bodies: USATF and entities required for compliance with USATF sanctioning and competition rules

  • Legal requirements: If required by law or to ensure the safety of participants

5. Children's Privacy — Kid's Duck Dash

The Kid's Duck Dash is designed for children, but registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who is providing the child's information on the child's behalf. We collect only the information needed to safely run the event and do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, and we rely on our registration and payment platforms' own security measures for the data they handle on our behalf.
