Bring your energy and get ready to cheer for thousands of runners and walkers from all across the country as they speed their way along the 26.2 and 13.1 mile courses. Our 2019 race promises to offer the same spectacular views on our new course in the Eugene community!

We promise the best viewing spots for our spectators! For the 2019 race, we’re excited to offer new and exciting areas of Eugene, as well as some of the Eugene Marathon classics.  Check out the Spectator map here!

One of our favorite things is seeing the signs that spectators hold up for participants as they pass by. From motivational to humorous, holding signs is a great way to cheer on participants throughout the course.  Take a picture of your funny or motivational sign and post it on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #EM19Signs and you will be entered into a contest to win a Eugene Marathon prize basket!

Do you get bored waiting for your runner to finish their race? Have a hard time seeing your runner through the crowds of people at the popular spectator spots? Sign up to volunteer as a Course Marshal and get a front-row seat as the runners pass by! Click here to visit our volunteer page and reserve your seat on race day!

Returning in 2019 after huge success! We’re partnering with Waze to provide all course closures throughout race weekend. Guaranteed to get you where you need to go, Waze is the perfect option for your Eugene Marathon driving directions.  Streets that intersect with the course will be closed while racers are present. Saturday races are from 8:00am- 9:30am.  Sunday races are from 7:00am – 2:00pm.

Due to the change in start and finish locations, roads in Eugene will be impacted for a shorter period of time than in recent years!

  • Downtown streets including northbound lanes on Ferry St Bridge, Willamette St. and 13th all the way to the UO Campus will be closed from 6:00am – 8:00am.
  • University neighborhoods will be impacted from 6:30am – 10:30am with closures including Agate St, 19th Ave and 20th Ave.
  • South Eugene, from Amazon Parkway and as far south as Snell St. will be impacted from 6:30am – 9:45am.
  • All streets will be open by 10:30am, with the exception of Copping St. which will be closed from 7:30am – 1:00pm.
