Spectators

Bring your energy and get ready to cheer for thousands of runners and walkers from all across the country as they speed their way along the 26.2 and 13.1 mile courses. Starting outside the University of Oregon’s famous Hayward field (15th & Agate), the courses run through 9 miles of Eugene streets and 5 miles of Springfield streets. The marathon course winds the rest of the way along the Willamette River bike path ending on the track at Hayward Field.

BEST VIEWING SPOTS

Check out the official Course Map and look for the gold stars that indicate the best viewing locations, cheer zones and live music! Specific spectator locations include: Alton Baker park, Amazon park, Maurie Jacobs park and Skinner Butte and Willamalane Parks. Or dine along the river or course at Valley River Inn’s Sweetwaters and McMenamin’s North Bank restaurants. Also review the Finish Festival Map for good locations to coordinate meeting back up with your athlete.  Come out and show these runners & walkers why Eugene and Springfield is considered Track Town, U.S.A!

SIGNS!

One of our favorite things is seeing the signs that spectators hold up for them as they pass by. From motivational to humorous, holding signs is a great way to cheer on participants throughout the course.  Take a picture of your funny or motivational sign and post it on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #EM18Signs and you will be entered into a contest to win a Eugene Marathon prize basket!
