AWARDS AND ELITES

AWARDS

All finishers receive a finisher medal. Additional awards are given to the top 3 overall finishers in all categories (male, female, non-binary, wheelchair), top 3 in masters and each age group, male and female, in the Marathon, Half Marathon and Eugene5K presented by OCCU.

All overall awards will be presented on the main stage. Age group awards will be mailed to participants approximately three weeks after the race.

Age groups (Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K): 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 and over.  

There is a 14 and under award for the 5K race.

ELITE ATHLETE Program

Athletes who have achieved one or more of the 2024 elite or sub-elite performance standards may complete the Elite Athlete Program application and will be notified of their status within a week. Applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis with an application deadline of March 1. This program applies to the marathon and half marathon only.

ELITE

Athletes who have achieved an elite qualification standard and are accepted into the 2024 Eugene Marathon Elite Program will receive free race entry, pre- and post-race warmup and recovery facilities, and personal bottle drops at 4 on-course locations (bottles are for marathoners only).

Sub-ELITE

Athletes who have achieved a sub-elite or masters qualification standard and are accepted into the 2024 Eugene Marathon Elite program will receive 50% off race entry, pre- and post-race warmup and recovery facilities, and personal bottle drops at 4 on-course locations (bottles are for marathoners only).

Elite & Sub-Elite Qualification Standards

*Athletes must submit qualifying marks achieved after January 1, 2022

** Meeting these standards does not guarantee inclusion in the Elite Athlete Program. All applications are subject to the discretion of the Elite Athlete Coordinator

Prize Money

Prize money will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both the marathon and half marathon. Prize money is equal for men and women and will be awarded based on gun time only.

Marathon

  • 1st Place - $1,000

  • 2nd Place - $500

  • 3rd Place - $250

Half Marathon

  • 1st Place - $1,000

  • 2nd Place - $500

  • 3rd Place - $250

Bonus Prize Money

  • Event Record Bonus - $2,000

    • If two athletes run under and existing course record, the bonus is paid to the first athlete to finish

    • Event record bonus does not apply to the 5K
