2022 Eugene Marathon and Half Marathon Medals

The Eugene Marathon and Half Marathon finisher medals will once again be made with Hayward Magic; finishers in 2022 will receive a medal containing a piece of Historic Hayward Field’s salvaged east grandstand timbers.

“We’re so excited to be able to give our athletes a medal that means so much,” said Ian Dobson, Eugene Marathon Race Director.

Last year’s Hayward Magic medals featured a single cut of wood on a ribbon, and this year’s takes it a step further; displaying the piece of east grandstand timber upon a metal cutout in the shape of the new Hayward Field tower.

The Eugene Marathon and Half Marathon medals will once again be manufactured in Oregon.

“Our vision was to create a medal that honored the past and looked forward to the future,” said Jon Marx, Eugene Marathon Director of Marketing. “The historic wood tells the story of a century of legendary moments at Historic Hayward Field, and the metal tower is a nod to the next century of running in Track Town.”

All finishers of the Eugene Marathon and Half Marathon May 1, 2022 will receive their piece of running history as they cross the finish line inside Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Virtual Eugene Marathon and Virtual Half Marathon will receive a medal in their race kit.
