EUGENE, Ore., Mar. 26, 2019 – The Eugene Marathon announced Tuesday a three-year partnership with PeaceHealth, a nonprofit healthcare system based in Oregon, Washington and Alaska.
With a history of promoting personal and community health, participating as the exclusive healthcare sponsor of the Eugene Marathon weekend further demonstrates PeaceHealth’s ongoing commitment to championing community organizations and events.
“The promotion of personal and community health is engrained in our Mission. The Eugene Marathon is a keystone event based in Eugene and a catalyst for community health. That’s why it’s important that we are a part of what the marathon’s events stand for locally, regionally and nationally,” said PeaceHealth Director of Strategic Communications and Engagement Marcy Marshall. “Our work with the Marathon allows us to celebrate Eugene’s deep-root history of athletics and while supporting individual health and wellness.”
PeaceHealth will continue to provide medical care to participants during the Eugene Marathon, both on-course and at the Finish Festival. Additionally, athletes and spectators are encouraged to use PeaceHealth Rides bicycles to travel to the start and finish location at Autzen Stadium. With more than 20 PeaceHealth bike hubs throughout Eugene, traveling to the Eugene Marathon is accessible and sustainable for almost everyone. Athletes are also encouraged to visit the PeaceHealth Expo booth.
“We’re extremely excited to have PeaceHealth as our exclusive healthcare sponsor. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a nonprofit dedicated to improving the wellbeing of everyone in our community,” said Executive Race Director Courtney Heily.
