Race Day Information

TRANSPORTATION/PARKING

To The Start:  Participants are encouraged to take the provided shuttles from one of the three designated shuttle locations: Autzen Stadium (lots of parking available), Hilton Eugene & Conference Center and Valley River Inn.  All shuttles begin running at 5:30 a.m.  Limited pay lots and street parking are available near the start. color-ltd.jpg

  • Autzen Stadium: Follow signs for designated parking locations.  Shuttles depart from the south east corner, across from the BMX facility. First shuttle leaves at 5:30 a.m.
  • Hilton Eugene: Shuttles leave from 7th St. side of Hilton.  First shuttle leaves at 5:30 a.m.  
  • Valley River Inn: Shuttles leave from parking lot. First shuttle leaves at 5:30 a.m.

Post Race:  Shuttles will depart from the south east corner of the Autzen Stadium parking lot, across from the BMX facility.  Shuttles will run on a loop, dropping people off at the Start (15th & Agate), the Hilton Eugene & Conference Center and Valley River Inn.  Post Race shuttles will be available from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  All participants can ride any LTD bus for free on race day, provided they show their bib number. 

BAG CHECK

Bags with warm up clothing may be checked at the starting line.  Please use your “Green Goodie Bag” given to you at packet pick-up for your gear.  (Your “Green Goodie Bag” is a reusable, eco-friendly bag similar to bags you can purchase at grocery stores)  Tie the handles together and zip tie the tear tag from the bottom of your bib number around the handles (zip ties provided).  Volunteers will assist you with locating your bag at the finish line. Do not put anything of value in your bag; the Eugene Marathon is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Discarded items left at the start will be donated to a local charity.

PACERS

Pacers for the marathon will be wearing bright yellow tops with times on their back. Look for pacers holding signs at the starting line.  Pacers will be available for the following finish times: 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, and 5:00.

RESTROOMS

Plenty of portable restrooms will be located at the start, finish and at various locations along the course.

WATER STATIONS

The marathon course has 17 water stations, staggered approximately every 2 miles. Water and Gleukos sports drink will be served at every water station.  Clif Shot Energy Gel (Flavors: Espresso, Mocha, Razz-Sorbet) will be available for marathon participants at miles 13.5 and 21.5.  Check the COURSE MAP for exact locations.

MILE MARKERS

Each mile will be clearly marked along the race course.  Look for signs honoring our 26 Eugene Legends at each mile marker. 

AID STATIONS

Medical and Aid Stations, staffed by medical teams from Oregon Medical Group, Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy, Red Cross FAST teams and other local hospitals, are stationed approximately every 2 miles beginning in Amazon Park (mile 6).

SPECTATOR LOCATIONS

Bring your energy and get ready to cheer for thousands of runners and walkers, from all across the country, as they speed their way along the 26.2 and 13.1 mile courses. Starting at the University of Oregon’s famous Hayward field, the courses run through 9 miles of Eugene’s streets and 5 miles of Springfield’s streets. The marathon course winds the rest of the way along the Willamette River bike path ending in the shadow of Autzen Stadium (click here for course map).  Some specific spectator locations include: Alton Baker, Amazon, Maury Jacobs, Skinner Butte and Willamalane Parks. Or dine along the river/course at Valley River Inn’s Sweetwaters, and Northbank’s McMinnemins restaurants. Come out and show these runners why Eugene/Springfield is considered Track Town, U.S.A.

AWARDS

Awards will be presented to the top three men and women of each age group in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K. Age groups are as follows: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over. *All Kids Run finishers receive an award. 

Awards will be presented on the Wells Fargo Finish Line stage:
7:45 a.m.    5K Overall & Masters Awards   
8:45 a.m.    Half Overall & Masters Awards,  5K Age Group Awards   
10:15 a.m.  Marathon Overall & Masters Awards, Half Age Group Awards   
11:30 a.m.  Marathon Age Group Awards
*Awards not picked up at the finish line will be available at the Eugene Running Company after Tuesday, May 6th.
